James “Craig” Dodson, 61, of Temperance, MI, died Tuesday, November 14, 2017.  Born February 25, 1956, in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of James F. and Pauline (Atkinson) Dodson.  He served his country by enlisting in the U.S. Marines for 3 years, and then serving in U.S. Army for 29 years, retiring in 2006.  Craig was currently employed as a correction officer for the State of Ohio for the past 12 years and formerly for the State of North Carolina.  He was a member of the Hollis Lodge, 535, F. &A.M. in North Carolina. Craig married Barbara Greene on July 8, 1997. He enjoyed camping, fishing, woodworking, but most of all, spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Craig is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; son, Travis (Leigh) Dodson; step-children, Garland (Lisa) Penley and Gregory (Jill) Penley; extended daughter, Laura Cokonougher; mother, Pauline Dodson and sister, Gail (Buddy) White; niece, Megan White; nephew, Kyle White; Aunts, Marleen Atkinson and Eileen Nedzel. 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his father and step-daughter, Kimberly Tanner Wurst.

Visitation will be from 3-8 pm, Friday, November 17, 2017, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 18, 2017.  Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park, Sylvania, OH.
